For some pets, a full groom is not the right goal at the start. The session may be shortened, paused, or stopped if there is significant stress, pain, aggression, breathing difficulty, or another welfare concern. When needed, a shorter practical finish may be recommended instead of forcing a result that would cause avoidable discomfort.
